Kia ora Parents/Caregivers and Whānau,
We are very pleased that we are now going to Covid Level 2 at 11:59pm on Sunday, 30 August 2020.
This means that school will OPEN for children to return on Monday 31st August.
It is our intention to keep children, staff and whānau as safe as possible within our school environment. We are following the advice of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Worksafe NZ.
At Alert Level 2 we will still need to ask for your assistance and support as the school routines and timetables have had to be adjusted for Health and Safety reasons.
Please be aware that sick children must remain at home until they are well and symptom free. Children with medical conditions are at heightened risk and must remain at home following Doctor advice.
Children attending school:
School gates will be open from 8.20am. Children should not be dropped off earlier as no-one will be available to supervise their safety. Children must be collected promptly at 3pm.
Each child will need a school bag, lunch and named drink bottle. (School fountains will not be operating, and lunches cannot be dropped off at the office). The school canteen will be operating; if you wish to purchase lunch, your child will need to be sent with the correct money and will need to order at the canteen before school.
Safe hygiene practices will be a priority in school. Classrooms/pods have hand sanitizer and the option of handwashing facilities. These will be monitored and reinforced by teachers and staff.
Distancing of students will be taught i.e. Bubble Steps to avoid breathing on one another. The school remains a No Touch Zone as previous.
Any child who becomes sick at school will need to be urgently collected. It is therefore critical we have your up to date contact details.
Staff will walk the children out of school to avoid overcrowding at 3pm using different exit gates.

Due to Contact Tracing Parents/Whānau/Visitors must call the office before entering into school. We are trying to minimise non-essential contact with others. (Please farewell your children at the front of school and ensure they know who is picking them up or if they are walking home).
We are looking forward to welcoming children back to school and will be closely monitoring their well-being. Accelerated learning will be a major focus for all children and an easing back into routines.
If you have any questions please contact the school office on 09 263 9060.
